Becoming Catholic
OCIA/RICA

(Formerly RCIA)

Welcome Home to the Catholic Church!

Founded by Jesus over 2000 years ago and handed down through the centuries, the Catholic Church has truly impacted the lives of people around the world. The word Catholic means universal, and with 1.2 billion Catholics currently in the world, there is no doubt that the Catholic Church is for everyone.

If you are searching for beauty, truth, peace, and joy, we warmly welcome you to find it here within the Catholic Church. During your preparation to enter fully into the community of the Church, you will discover the richness of the Catholic Faith and develop an even stronger relationship with God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

At the heart of our faith, Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became a man and suffered death, rising again to pay our debt to sin and offering us the precious gift of eternal life through Him. So come, indulge in the vast history of the Catholic Church, and experience the life-changing journey that will lead you to true fulfillment and happiness. The Catholic Church welcomes you with open arms.

The O.C.I.A., or Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the process for becoming a Catholic.

R.I.C.A., is the acronym used for the Spanish version. Which stands for “Ritual de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos”.

This process is for those who:

  • Have not been baptized.

  • Were baptized in another Christian tradition.

  • Those that have been baptized, but would like to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and/or Confirmation.

Classes run at the same time on Sunday mornings from 10:30 am-12:00 pm, September through April.
